Recycling and WEEE Information
When you’re ordering electronic and electrical products from Neurofenix.com and your delivery address is in the UK or another European country, please consider that local regulations on the disposal and recycling of electronic and electrical equipment may apply.
All Electronic and Electrical Equipment (EEE) placed onto the market in Europe must be marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol to indicate that they are covered by the WEEE Directive, which imposes a number of obligations on producers of EEE including obligations relating to the financing of the take-back treatment and recycling of end-of-life equipment.
If you want to dispose of used electrical or electronic equipment please note that you can’t do this through the regular household waste. You can instead dispose of old electrical or electronic equipment at your local waste facilities or recycling centres. Please contact your local authority directly for more information.
What is the WEEE Directive?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of waste electrical items.
Unwanted electrical equipment is one of the EU’s fastest-growing waste streams. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and human health.
How are we helping?
In the EU, distributors including retailers must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible distributor, we have met the requirements placed on us by financially supporting national networks of WEEE recycling centres, established by local authorities in countries which import our electrical goods.
Country-specific information on WEEE and location your nearest recycling centre can be found below.
Neurofenix Limited is registered in the UK with our environmental partner, Comply Direct. They handle our producer obligations for the collection, treatment and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its life-cycle.
Additionally, Neurofenix Limited is registered with Valpak Ltd, who operate the Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS) in the UK. Through them, we finance WEEE projects which aim to increase the rate of WEEE collection, reuse and recycling in the UK. This, in turn, meets our distributor take-back obligations.
